Since I paint from both imagination and life most of my paintings are complete designs before they ever make it to paper or canvas even as a sketch. I learned to paint long before I learned to draw (I have been told this is unusual). I am rarely able to paint from live models as my sketches and paintings usually take on a life of their own. I have been known to use as many as 20 or 30 different objects and/or photos as reference for one painting and the end result rarely resembles any one reference. I will use almost anything for reference including my own photos, draped cloth, jewelry and numerous found objects. And some of my paintings have no reference at all. They are completely from imagination.
I am a classically trained painter and work mostly in acrylics, and watercolors but I love to experiment with paint and other media and will use any paint or material that can be made archival in order to achieve the results I desire.
If anyone enjoys viewing my art a fraction of what I enjoy creating it I feel I have succeeded.
